Born, raised and educated in Michigan, Jasmine believes every child is precious and unique in their own way. Children can change the world, and many times it is their example that teaches us grown ups what’s really important in life. From a very young age, Jasmine’s father always instilled in her that ‘Everyone is your teacher, and everyone is your student’. She has carried this with her throughout her life, and it is a large part of her inspiration in writing children’s literature.

Some of the most life altering discoveries can come from the mind of a child. Jasmine continually strives to empower young readers of every background to be their best selves while making room for respecting others for their differences. Her continual desire in her writing is to represent diversity and to show just a little kindness to those who many may ignore.

Jasmine makes her home in Detroit with husband, Jonah, and her pet goldfish, Frank and Mabel. She loves to bake, watch movies, and go on adventures to explore new things.
